What we collect

  • Account info: name, email, password (hashed), and optionally a profile photo.
  • Household content: the lists, events, messages, todos, groceries, and "for later" items you and your household create.
  • Mobile number (optional): if you choose to enable SMS, your phone number and the messages you send to and receive from Otto.
  • Usage: basic device and log information needed to keep the service running and secure.

How we use it

  • To run Otto for you and your household — sync lists, send reminders, deliver SMS you opted into.
  • To keep the service safe (fraud, abuse, debugging).
  • To respond when you contact us.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use the content of your household for advertising.

SMS & phone numbers

Mobile numbers are collected only when you choose to add one and verify it. We use them to send the household notifications and reminders you've opted into, and to receive inbound texts that you send to Otto so we can route them to your household.

We do not share, sell, or rent your phone number or SMS content to third parties for their marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers and message content are shared only with our SMS delivery provider (Twilio) strictly to deliver the messages you've requested.

You can stop SMS at any time by replying STOP to any Otto text or by turning off SMS in your account.

Service providers

We use vetted third-party providers to host the service, send email, and deliver SMS. They process data only on our behalf and under contract.

Your choices

  • Update or delete your profile from your account.
  • Disable SMS at any time.
  • Email support@myotto.app to request export or deletion of your data.

Children

Otto is not directed at children under 13. Households may include kid profiles managed by a parent or guardian, but kid profiles do not have independent accounts.

Changes

We may update this policy. If changes are material, we'll let you know inside the app or by email.
